As much as I tried to keep my illness at bay, I think it has won the battle. I now pay the price for "working through it" all week long. I find myself incapable of doing much else other than laying on the couch and venturing into the kitchen to search for something to eat, only to return to the couch empty handed. I'm notorious for not taking care of myself when I should. Truthfully, I just hate laying around babying myself! I get antsy and there's so much to do. Periodically, my body rebels and I find myself in the position I'm in now---sick! Yuck.
I heard my favorite baby doctor, Dr. Sears, was scheduled to be on the Dr. Phil Show (which I normally don't watch) but I caught a bit of it on Friday. Curiously, one of Dr. Sears's sons, who is a doctor too, stated that in their office they recieve far more illnesses after holidays that involve heavy sugar consumption (eg. Halloween). He recommends laying off the sugar as he feels it lowers the body's immunity. Hmmmm, food for thought!
