Calling all Japanese readers!

I thoroughly love the projects within the Japanese sewing book, Homespun.

I would love to make this simple dress for my daughter out of linen. Though it's a style I've sewn before, I'm a bit baffled by the enclosed pattern. The pattern does not include multiple sizes which leads me to wonder what morsel of wisdom is contained within the accompanying Japanese instructions...

Do you read Japanese? Can you translate this text for me? For your help, I'll put together a little gift with a very big THANK YOU!

In addition, I want to make this dress both for my daughter and myself! I first glimpsed this dress over on The Small Object site. She did a fabulous job!

Hi! I'm sorry I can't help with the Japanese -- in fact, I'm no help at all, I only have a question! I gasped out loud (and I'm in public, too!) when I saw the last picture with the shirt. Hi. I am Japanes. I just landed your site and absolutely love it! About your question, you are right. The pictures of the pages posted do not have any explanation on sizing, except how much material needed. I guess the author talks about the sizing somewhere else in the book (maybe the first page of instructions?). I just cannot tell you if the dress is one-size-fits-all or there is a "standard" size of all the projects in the book. If I could see other pages I can tell you. I don't read Japanese, but I'm currently knitting from a Japanese book - If sewing is like knitting, you're expected to have a good general skill set (which you do) and to be able to adjust for your size.

And be brave.

I do not read Japanese but with that diagram, a measuring tape and a body to fit I could make that dress. I'm sure you can do it too. Just be brave.

Okay, first I need to clarify my Japanese is really bad! I think it must be a one-size (supposedly) fits all dress, because I see nothing that shows size. The first bit at the top where it shows 110cm. I'm pretty sure is saying how much fabric you need. I think the bodice is lined, so two different measurements for fabric are given. Then it says to cut one each of each pattern piece (some are cut on folded fabric, represented by a dotted line). That's about the best I can do!
