I volunteered to teach a sewing class at my children's school. Similar to past volunteering projects, I signed up for this one before I knew what was involved.
And soon, we had 10 old sewing machines lined up in the garage, needing work.
My generous guy offered his mechanical services and spent hours studying the ins and outs of sewing machines.
Like others, this adventure feels like a disjointed puzzle slowly coming together into a whole of positive experiences... thanks to all of the giving hands involved.
I met two other helpful Moms and many young smiling faces through this project. Now, if I can dissuade a few of the girls from sewing their own fingers, we'll all learn something together!
